1999. bronze, green patinated, on wooden base. From the series of Columbus heads. Hinged, multi-piece head, inside various faces, a butterfly relief and an abstract bird made of brass. Base plaque inscribed 'COLÓN Y LA MARIPOSA QUE VOLÓ SOBRE EL MAR' P.U. Barón 1999', base sign. 'Barón'. Head: h. 28 cm, base: h. 6 cm. - Provenance: Formerly coll. Fritz van Ankum/Imme Reich-van Ankum, owner of Galería Arabal, Alicante - Spanish sculptor, studied from 1949-1954 at the Art Academy San Fernando in Madrid, fellow in London, Yale and Rhode Island, since 1960 numerous exh. and honors, from the 70s we know especially the multiple mobile and variable sculptures of metal and wood.
