Imperia

Lot-No. 562

Proceeds : 3.000 €

1996. bronze. 9th copy of the small sculptural version of the monumental harbour figure made of cast stone, which was erected in Constance in 1993. H. 49,5 cm. - The depiction ironically refers to the Constance Council of 1414-1418: a noble courtesan carries on her hands the ecclesiastical and the secular dignitary in the form of two haggard juggler figures. - Expertise: Certificate of the artist dated 19 June 1996; original invoice. - Provenance: Galerie Culture, Constance; Private collection Schleswig-Holstein. - German sculptor, trained at the Staatl. Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, 'enfant terrible' of the German art scene, repeatedly provokes fierce reactions with his works and unauthorised actions, for example by depicting naked celebrities.
