Meissen, designed around 1870/80, made soon after. Porcelain, underglazed blue onion pattern. On a curved, separate base a splendid top, the shaft with 8 cupids as seasons, openworked top bowl with plastic flower tendrils. Partially chipped. Model no. 605, sword marks. Top: h. 43 cm, base: h. 10 cm. - German sculptor and modeller, educated at the Dresden Art Academy, 1849-1886 chief designer at the Meissen manufactory, one of the most productive modellers of historism.
