SQ fec. 1854, min. dam., matted and framed under glass. - German theatre, architecture, veduta and interior painter from a great dynasty of artists of Italian descent. Trained within the family, Q. embarked on a career as a theatre painter and took over the position of court theatre painter in Munich from relatives in 1815, becoming director of decoration in 1828. Q. was one of the leading, innovative and one of the most prolific theatre decorators of his time, his designs were also adopted in other cities.
