Hexagonal head in the archaic, expressive formal language typical of Haizmann, with round, open mouth, round eyes and a third 'spiritual eye' on the forehead, illustrating the artist's spiritual inspiration. Monogrammed 'RH' on the reverse. H. 19,5 cm, w. 18,5 cm, d. 8 cm. - German painter, graphic artist, sculptor a. ceramicist, after serving in World War I he made a commercial education, by founding an art shop he Hamburg he came in contact with E. Nolde, E.-L. Kircher, K. Schmidt-Rottluff u. E. Heckel a. started to create art himself, defamed as 'degenerate' by the Nazis he retired to Niebüll.
