1970s. Bronze, dark brown patinated. Signed on the underside. 'A.-I. Baschlakow', num. Ex. '2/15', foundry stamp 'GUSS BARTH ELMENHORST'. H. 14,3 cm. - Russian painter and sculptor who moved to Germany as a child. After an apprenticeship as a painter in Hanover and studies at the Werkkunstschule in Hanover, longer stays in Italy and France followed, which became formative for B.'s style and motifs. His sculptures are strongly influenced by Cubism.
