Zangs 57, framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - The work, probably created in the 1970s, has been backdated by the artist himself, a practice not uncommon with Zangs. - Expertise: Certificate by Helgard Müller Jensen, Galerie Rottloff, Karlsruhe 08.03.2019. - Provenance: 1982 acquired from the artist by a collector in Krefeld; private collection Belgium; private collection Rhineland. - German painter, collage a. object artist. Z. studied 1945-50 at the Düsseldorf academy under O. Pankok. He painted abstract a. figurative paintings, since the 1950s he became famous with his 'Verweißungen' a. the works painted with a windscreen wiper. In 1977 he exhibited at the Documenta 6.
