1916. Mixed media/paper. 30 x 21,5 cm. Lo. ri. sign. and dat. Karl Pet Röhl 16, framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. Professionally rest., inconspicuous lesions to the margins. - German painter, draughtsman and graphic artist. R. studied at the Kiel art school as well as at the Berlin and Weimar academies, among others under F. Mackensen and A. Egger-Lienz. He designed the first Bauhaus signet, 1922 Theo van Doesburg held his De Stijl lecture in R.s studio. 1919-21 R. was master student at the Bauhaus. In 1926 he became teacher at the Frankfurt Städelschule where he was dismissed by the Nazis in 1942. Since 1946 he lived and worked in Kiel. Mus.: Schleswig, Kiel, Hannover, Ludwigshafen, Erfurt.
