In addition: a preparatory outline of the same subject for a final pochoir print. Ink pen/tracing paper, 47 x 58 cm. Min. age-related marks, paper border min. uneven with small area of dam. - B. was an Italian illustrator, painter and stage designer. He studied under R. Sorbi in Florence. From 1901 he continued his studies in Paris under G. Costetti and Jean Léon Gérôme amongst others. During his career B. worked as an illustrator for newspapers, magazines and fashion publications such as La Gazette du Bon Ton. He also built a reputation as a stage/costume designer and worked for several theatres including Les Folies Bergères and La Scala in Milan.
