D. studied art history and archaeology in Hamburg from 1973-77, then art at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts until 1983. She received several prizes and scholarships, among them for the Villa Romana in Florence, as well as teaching positions in Hamburg and Kiel. The artist lives and works in Hamburg.
