Löbbert first studied photography in Kassel from 1984, then painting and sculpture in Düsseldorf until 1990. 2005-2021 he was rector of the Academy of Münster. D. Löbbert studied sculpture in Cologne and Düsseldorf from 1983-92. Since 2001 he has been professor of sculpture at the Academy of Münster. In addition to the Düsseldorf Museum, their works have been shown in many European exhibitions, as well as in New York. The brothers also created numerous works together for public spaces. Among them were 'anonymous sculptures', which they created on site from bulky waste and then left to themselves.
