Copenhagen. Design 1912, made after 1945. Silver, stamped, Dam. Assay mark, MM., 'Denmark Sterling', '17B', 'P.P.H.'. Round base with open worked leaf and pearl decor. Bell shaped bowl. Hammer blown decor. H. 13,2 cm, diam. 14,8 cm, weight approx. 308 g. - Literature: Comp. Drucker, Georg Jensen, S. 215 mit 17A - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
