He was a member of the artist associations 'Neue Gruppe' in Munich, 'Die Schanze' and 'Gruppe SW' in Münster. From 1953 he was active in Stuttgart. I. had exhibitions at the Folkwang Museum in Essen, Cologne, Stuttgart and Wuppertal, among others. Mus.: Cologne (Wallraf-Richartz-Mus.), Munich (Bayr.
