Sibast, Denmark. Designed 1958, made soon after. Precious and fruit wood, veneered, drawers partially white lacquered. H. 98,5 cm, w. 182 cm, d. 49,5 cm. Some Traces consistent with age and use. Body on conical legs, the top with rear upstand, the front with 2 sliding doors, inside 5 shelves, on the left 7 drawers with handles, partly white lacquered. - The design was awarded the gold medal at the 1958 Triennale in Milan. - Provenance: Essen Collection, Hamburg - Danish designer and architect, pupil of Finn Juhl, who later became his close friend and partner, since the 1950s cooperation with the furniture manufacturer Sibast, which also succeeded on the American market, e.g. in the White House with Jimmy Carter, he also provided numerous designs for other renowned furniture manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen or France & Son.
