Pastel/cardboard. 37 x 53,5 cm. Lo. ri. sign. K. v. Kardoff, framed under glass, unopened. Min. thin scratches. - German artist and printmaker, especially known for his portraits. He was educated at the Academy in Munich, the Academy Julien in Paris, as well as in Venice, Holland and Berlin. v. K. was a member of the artist's colony at Nagybánya, of the Berliner Sezession and the Freie Sezession, and taught at the Breslauer Academy. He was influenced by Liebermann in Berlin, as well as by the impressionist style, which can be seen successfully implemented in his portraits and lanscapes works in particular.
