1950s. Bronze, brown patinated. H. 18 cm, marble base: H. 6 cm. Unmarked, on the bottom typed sticker inscribed Richard Haizmann, Kleiner Engel, 1954 and handwritten sticker. Angel with folded wings. - In Haizmann's work, the angels were of special importance. In addition to the woodcut cycles, he also created several sculptural works. In a letter in 1963 he declared: "My angels are not symbols, but representations of spiritual forces and entities.." - German painter, graphic artist, sculptor a. ceramicist, after serving in World War I he made a commercial education, by founding an art shop he Hamburg he came in contact with E. Nolde, E.-L. Kircher, K. Schmidt-Rottluff u. E. Heckel a. started to create art himself, defamed as 'degenerate' by the Nazis he retired to Niebüll.
