Porcelain white dial with black roman numerals and small second, labelled PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE and SWISS. Slider of minute repater on 9 o'clock. Reverse viewing case cover, additional bottom cover in 18 ct. yellow gold, marked amongst others with MM: JHP for Jean-Pierre Hagmann. Black Patek Philippe leather bracelet with thorn clasp in yellow gold, marked. Near mint condition. Diameter approx. 33 mm, weight approx. 50 g. With cartonage and woodbox and Patek Philippe archive extract dated 9.10.2023 and movement protocol from 28.08.2023. - To mark the 150th anniversary of the Manufacture, Patek Philippe developed the reference 3979, the first automatic minute repeater in the history of the company in a wristwatch. Following on from the significant achievements of the past and the unpretentious style of the house, the highly complicated movement was presented in a case measuring just 33.4 mm by the legendary Jean-Pierre Hagmann and documents the Manufacture's ability not only in the technical field but also in the aesthetic field. Mechanics that mark the limits of what is possible, in cases of timeless elegance and simplicity, characterise the DNA of Patek Philippe and find their perfect counterpart in this sought-after model. As far as is known, only about 100 examples of this reference were produced, which makes the watch one of the manufacture's most sought-after collector's items. We are all the more pleased to be able to present you this rarity from a private collection in Hamburg. -
