C. was trained by his father, the landscape painter Edward Theodore C., who came from London to Lake Starnberg. Therafter he also studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. Like his father C. began painting alpine landscapes but later he expanded his repertoire to landscapes from Italy and Englend. Since 1907 he exhibited at the Munich Kunstverein.
