Around 1930. Ton. Figure: 22 x 16,5 x 9 cm, wooden base: H. 3 cm. Sign. Woebcke. Graceful female nude, seated with bent legs. The figure shows the influence of Aristide Maillol, whose acquaintance Woebcke made on a trip to Paris in 1924 - Sculptor, painter, graphic artist, attended the Altona School of Arts and Crafts after an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor and worked as a freelancer after the war, member of the Deutscher Werkbund and the Hamburg Secession. Woebcke was supported by the director of the Hamburg Kunsthalle Gustav Pauli, among others, and mainly created nudes and small sculptures Lit.: Rump, p. 515
