Around 1970. Bronze, goldbrown patinated. H. 11 cm x l. 30 cm x d. 12 cm. Foundry mark: H. NOACK BERLIN, owner's monogr. HS. During a stay in Paris, Schumann met artists such as Jean Arp, Constantin Brancusi and Ossip Zadkine, whose biomorphic organic abstractions inspired him greatly - German sculptor. Trained at the Hochschule f. Bildende Künste Hamburg under E. Scharff and at the Stuttgart Academy under O. Baum, 1954-1964 he stayed in Paris. Since 1955 he worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg in his studio at Lerchenfeld, 1974 he moved to Sagau-Kassedorf near Eutin, since 1964 he had another studio in Carrara. - Schumann created sculptures and wall designs, his preferred material was marble.
