1980s. Bronze, goldbrown patinated, polished. 13,5 x 11,5 x 5 cm. Sign. Schumann, numbered copy 18/60. From the 1970s onwards, Schumann explored the theme of "family" and chose geometricised forms as a means of representation - Literature: Karrer, Siegfried. Pierre Schumann, Skulpturen in Marmor und Bronze. Salzburg, 2003, p. 120, ill. 58 und p.124, ill. 62 - German sculptor. Trained at the Hochschule f. Bildende Künste Hamburg under E. Scharff and at the Stuttgart Academy under O. Baum, 1954-1964 he stayed in Paris. Since 1955 he worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg in his studio at Lerchenfeld, 1974 he moved to Sagau-Kassedorf near Eutin, since 1964 he had another studio in Carrara. - Schumann created sculptures and wall designs, his preferred material was marble.
