1976. Bronze, brown patinated. Figure: H. 38 cm, marble base: H. 6 cm. Sign. Schumann, numbered copy 7/60, foundry mark: VENTURI ARTE. Schumann created the motif of the lovers in 1976 in a first bronze edition of 60 copies, followed in later years by versions in other sizes and materials - Literature: Karrer, Siegfried. Pierre Schumann, Skulpturen in Marmor und Bronze. Salzburg, 2003, p. 140, fig. 74 - German sculptor. Trained at the Hochschule f. Bildende Künste Hamburg under E. Scharff and at the Stuttgart Academy under O. Baum, 1954-1964 he stayed in Paris. Since 1955 he worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg in his studio at Lerchenfeld, 1974 he moved to Sagau-Kassedorf near Eutin, since 1964 he had another studio in Carrara. - Schumann created sculptures and wall designs, his preferred material was marble.
