Around 1900. Marble. H. 59 cm. Hairline cracking. The bust shows the goddess of the hunt with her head tilted to one side, her wavy hair held by a ribbon and draped robes in the antique style. It goes back to the ancient model of Artemis of Gabii, which was attributed to the Greek sculptor Praxiteles. It is attributed to the Greek sculptor Praxiteles and was discovered in 1792 on the property of Prince Borghese in Gabii. The original is now in the Louvre -
