Around 1920. Carved wood. H. 53-57 cm. Signed on the reverse M. STRECKER, on the bottom inscr. Margot Strecker Berlin W 15 Ludwigkirchstr. 13 Atelier. In the style of 1920s realism, the artist took up the theme of working people and depicts a pair of fishermen with a net and a basket with fish. Characteristic is the lively surface modeling by means of small carving marks - German sculptor, worked in her own studio in Berlin at the beginning of the 20th century and also worked for the Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst around 1909. Only a few of her works, including handcrafted pieces such as mirrors and cutlery, have survived Lit.: Exh. Cat. Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst, S. 296.
