B. studied 1947/48 at the art school Saarbrücken under K. Kunz, 1948/49 at the Stuttgart academy under W. Baumeister. Thereafter he lived in Munich and Paris and was taught engraving by J. Friedlaender. Among his numerous award was the Villa Romana prize. Mus.: Florence (Uffizi), New York (MoMA), Cologne (Mus. Ludwig), Ludwigshafen (Wilh. Hack Mus.), Amsterdam a. others.
