KPM Berlin. Designed around 1909/10, made soon after. Porcelain, Coloured underglaze and overglaze painting with enamel dots and matt gold. H. 40,5 cm. Sceptre (u'glaze blue) and and orb over KPM (u'glaze blue), ‘F’ in brown (groom), model nos. 9423 and 9366, year mark X (1923), incised line (bride). The groom on horseback, with a flower in his hand, wears the garb of a Roman warrior, the bride is depicted as Europa on a bull. - The ‘wedding procession’ was designed by Amberg in 1904/5 for the wedding of the German Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia to Cecilie of Mecklenburg - Literature: Fig. in: Treskow, Irene von.
