Copenhagen. Designed 1915, made 1930-51. Sterling silver, marked with different marks. 55 parts: 10 starter forks (l. 16,5 cm, of which 6 pcs. Georg Jensen & Wendel, 1945-1951 and 4 pcs. 1933-1944), 10 starter knives, short handle, with stainless steel blades Frank Cobb, Sheffield (l. 20.3 cm, of which 6 pcs. Georg Jensen & Wendel, 1945-1951 and 4 pcs. 1933-1944), 11 dinner forks (l. 18.9 cm, 1933-1944), 11 dinner knives, short handle, stainless steel blades Frank Cobb, Sheffield (l. 23.1 cm, 1933-1944), 12 dessert spoons (l. 17.3 cm, control mark 1931, assay master C. F. Heise, 1904-1932), 1 sugar tongs (l. 9 cm). - Total weight (without knife with steel blades) approx. 1660 g. - Johan Gudmann Rohde (1856-1935), painter and designer, played an important role in the development of applied arts in Denmark and designed furniture as well as several significant silver designs for Georg Jensen - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
