T. 73, framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - U.S. artist, a major representative of abstract expressionism. T. studied in Lexington, Boston and New York. There he met R. Rauschenberg, with whom he traveled extensively through America and Europe. Already in 1957 he moved to Rome. He exhibited at Documenta and the Venice Biennale, among others, and received numerous awards. Mus.: New York (MoMA, Guggenheim), Paris (Centre Pompidou) a. others.
