1976. Stainless steel, manual winding, ref. 6263/0, cal. 727. Vintage collector's item of the legendary Rolex Daytona 'Big Red', which owes its name to the bright red lettering 'Daytona' in extra-large letters above the hour register. Black dial, bright gulloched sub-dials, silver-coloured, luminescent hands and indices, chronograph with stopwatch (does not jump flush to 12 o'clock when reset), small second, minute and hour registers, marked 'Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona Swiss', plexiglass. Black tachymetre bezel and screw-down pushers. Watch runs, chronograph does not jump flush to 12 o'clock when reset. Verso stainless steel. Bracelet 'Oyster' with Rolex folding clasp and quick size adjustment, inner diameter approx. 17.5 cm. Optically very good condition in keeping with its age, small scratches on plexiglass. Diam. 37 mm, weight approx. 91.6 g. With service certificates, most recently 2012 with Rolex service booklet, incl. replaced gaskets, crystal and crown, with Rolex cost estimate for complete restoration from 2024, with Rolex case and copy of purchase invoice from 1978. -
