Oil/wood, 88 x 70,5 cm, sligthly rest. - With original italian frame of the 17th cent. - The painting at hand is an interesting and typical work from one of the artists that contributed to the Studiolo of Grand Duke Francesco I. de’ Medici in Florence. In composition, colour and the physiognomies it is reminiscent of J. da Pontormo, G. Vasari and A. del Sarto. Besides a possible authorship of the rare Girolamo Macchietti, Francis Russell proposed Francesco Morandini, whereas Mina Gregori attributes the painting to Giovanni Battista Naldini.
