New York/USA, c. 1900. A table lamp with 10 iridescent glass shade of so called Favrile glass, echted sign. "LCT" and "Favrile". Bronze foot, greenish brown patinated, base plate marked and numbered "28626 Tiffany Studios New York 3" and monogr. "TGDCo". Bronze foot in the shape of lily pads with 10 rising stems, thereon 10 iridescent lamp shade in the shape of lilies. The model Lily Pond is on of the famoused lamps of the Tiffany Studios. (Comp. Tiffany, Master pieces of the American Art Nouveau, p. 84, 241). - Prov.: Estate of Hilde von Lang, managing director and publisher of the German weekly newspaper "Die Zeit", partner in life of Gerd Bucerius, founder of "Die Zeit" and patron of the arts. - Electrified with 10 lights. 1 lamp shade with min. chip and stress crack.
