China, early Qing-dynasty (1644-1911). Fire-gilt bronze with partly dark patina. Sitting Buddha-figurine with crossed legs on a richly embellished pedestal. The left hand reaching out, the right one in a meditating gesture with open palm. The eyes with downward expression. At the chest a swastika-ornament (wan) as a symbol of infinity. Mandorla with chrysanthemum-border. In the relief of the base the "8 Buddhist symbols". Overall height 29,5 cm.
