China, Kangxi-period (1662-1722). Porcelain with softly spotted red-greenish glaze. Compressed circular form on a flat ring stand. The cover with characteristic colouring, running from red to a greenish mushroom brown. Six-character Kangxi-mark. Diam. 8 cm. - These type of cover boxes were once designed for seal paste and belong to the highly celebrated group of scholar"s desk objects.
