Meissen, middle of 18th cent. In the centre the characteristic relief with a pair of swans. At the rim the Brühl coat of arms among strewn flowers and gold rim. Crossed swords in u"glaze blue. Rest. Diam. 21 cm. - The service was commissioned by the Saxonian Primeminister Heinrich Count of Brühl on the occassion of his marriage in 1737. The decoration is an allusion to the family name and can be also interpreted as a symbol of matrimonial faithfulnes.
