China, Qing-dynasty (1644-1911). Carved exquisite white jade. Fine carving in the shape of a finger citron (also called "Buddha"s Hand") with auspicious bats. H. 5 cm. - The Chinese name for the finger citron is identical to the word "foshou", which also means an auspicious luck for longevity. The word for bat (chines. "fu") kann also mean blessings or riches.
