China, Qing-dynasty (1644-1911). Honey-coloured to brown Huanghuali wood, partly carved. Rolling armchairs with sloped back-rest. The horizontal finish of the back-rests with carved volutes. H. 77 cm. - Chairs of this type were considered to serve for informal gatherings in a private circle. The became popular with the beginning of the Qing-dynasty.
