China, around 1900 (Qing-dynasty 1644-1911). Carved ivory. Cube-shaped six-character seal, reading "Qianlong Yulan Zhi Bao" (Seal for the appreciation of Emperor Qianlong). The upper part worked in high crisp relief, depicting 4 dragons at the sides on a stylised cloud-underground. At the top another large dragon with flaming pearl. H. 10,5 cm. - Prov.: By repute from the former coll. Of the Italian embassador at the Imperial court in Beijing (see an attached card).
