Early 20th cent. Bronze with dark brown patina, h. 16 cm, plinth 27 x 10 cm, on plinth sign. 'Valton', repaired. - French sculptor, studied under the great Animalier masters Barye and Fremiet and exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1868 until 1914. He produced numerous animal models, especailly of the African and Indian wildlife.
