Nancy, around 1900. Ash with intarsia of different exotic wood. Set of 4 tables with varying intarsia of rose blossoms, ivy, honeysuckle and maple. On the larges table with intarsia sign. 'L. Majorelle'. H. 77,5 cm, h. 74,5 cm, h. 73,5 cm resp. 72 cm. 1 crossbar missing. - French decorator and furniture designer, who manufactured his own designs, in the French tradition of the ébéniste. He was one of the outstanding designers of furniture in the Art Nouveau style, and after 1901 formally served as one of the vice-presidents of the École de Nancy.
