China, Qing-dynasty (1644-1911). Carved yellowish soapstone with caramel-coloured inclusions, probably 'Tianhuang'. Square-cut seal with tall rectangular shaft as a handle, crowned by a small crouching lion. The shaft inscribed '華帝寳印 - 甲申福塲立', dat. 'Jiachen' year (1824, 1884 etc.). The seal reading '...光大帝寶印'. Min. chip to the lower rim. H. 14 cm, 8,5 x 8,5 cm.
