Gandhara-region/Pakistan, 3rd/4th cent. Grey schist. Finely modelled facial expression and elaborate headdress. One of the elongate ears with earring. At the bottom mounted on a grey metal base. H. 30 cm. A Gandhara head with similar headdress from the region of today's Peshawar is in the coll. of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London (Inv. no. IM.4-1919).
