China, probably Song-dynasty (960-1279). Light greenish white jade, carved, with traces of a shipwreck found. Flattened jar with cover and animal head ringhandles on each side. At the cover a sitting Fô-dog. At both sides of the wall a flat relief with Taotie-masks. H. 24 cm.
