'Prof Poertzel', foundary mark 'Bildgiesserei Kraas 1Berlin44'. - German sculptor and modeller, studied at the Royal Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. Poertzels work includes portrait busts for the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha et. al. In 1913 he received the title of professor. Co-founder of the Coburg Kunstverein. - Lit.: Thieme-Becker.
