Meissen, around 1750. The bowl with scalloped gilded rim. The well decorated with a bouquet of 'German flowers', strewing flowers and the 'Smith'-emblem in a gilded cartouche. Crossed swords mark. Diam. 21,5 cm. - The service with the 'Smith' emblem has probably been created for the famous english consul Joseph Smith, who also acted as an art dealer and collector. Comp.: Cat.
