China, Republic Period (1912-1949). Porcelain with polychrome painting. Decorated with a revolving snowy scene, front depicting figures in front of pavilions surrounded by snow covered trees and mountains. Verso a figure in a small boat on a lake below an inscription, the neck just with a snowy landscape. Dat. in the inscription 'jia xu' (1934), base marked with artists seal 'Xuren chu pin'. H. 40 cm. - He Xuren (許人何, 1882-1940) was a Chinese porcelain painter, famous for his winter landscapes. He was member of 'The Eight Friends of Zhushan', an artist group featuring the best porcelain painters during the Republic period.
