Tibet, around 1900. Gilt and partly brown patinated bronze with traces of cold gilding. Depiction of the historical buddha in a simple monk's robe, falling loosely over his left shoulder. Sitting on a double lotus throne he performs the vitarka mudra (gesture of teaching). His hair tied to a high ushnisha and coloured in lazurite blue. H. 27,5 cm.
