London, first half 19th cent. Wooden case with golden painting of chinoiseries and leafs on red lacquer fond, partly ebonised, gilded bronze and metal sheet applications. Matfinished iron dial with black arabian and roman numerals, iron hands, gilded relief applications, labelled Mc Cabe Royal Exchange London'. Quarter hour strike on spiral bell, carillon (partly damaged), settings '8 bells' and '4 bells', reverse movement marked 'Mc Cabe London'. H. with handle 56 cm, w. 35 cm, d. 26 cm.
