Meissen, around 1740, the painting carried out in the workshop of Christian Friedrich Herold. The beaker with very fine continous harbour scenes with merchants in idealised landscapes. The saucer with landscape decor and figural scenes surrounded by a double iron-red ring. Edged with a a gold foliate border. Crossed swords mark, '52' in gold, the beaker with former's number '5'. Min. cracks, gold rim very slightly worn. Beaker h. 6,5 cm, saucer diam. 13 cm. - Provenance: Prov.: acquired at Kunsthandel G. Röbbig, Munich; since that time in a private collection in Hamburg.
