Hermann Hosaeus studied 1891/92 at the School of Arts and Crafts in Dresden and 1892-94 in Nuremberg by Heinrich Schwabe. 1894 - 1896 he stayed at the Munich Academy under Wilhelm von Ruemann and then at the Berlin Academy as the masterpupil of Reinhold Begas. He designed a lot of monuments and front decoration, among them the Mozart Monument in Dresden.
