Augsburg, 1763-1765. Silver, stamped, assay mark, MM.: 'ICE' for Johann Christoph Engelbrecht, zickzack line (Tremulierstich). Oval box, convex lid with engraving of coat of arms. Min. traces of age. H. 7 cm, 10 x 9 cm, weight c. 135 g. (Comp. Seling, Die Kunst der Augsburger Goldschmiede vol. III, p. 26 and no. 2307). - Augsburg silver smith, son of silversmith Johann Engelbrecht. Master since 1739. Engelbrecht belonged to one of the productive silver smiths in Augsburg. His workshop was continued after his death until about 1767-69. Several pots from the workshop of Engelbrecht are presented in Private Collections and Museums in Europe.
